We visisted Mexico three times from June to December 2004. The first time, from June 27th to 29th, we spent quality time with very good friends in Mexico City, taking a well-needed two-day break from our convoluted flight routing from Brisbane to Lima.
After finishing our South American adventure, we returned to our friends on November 08th, and this time we stayed for one week. We had a great time with them, and we learned that churros with hot chocolate, neverending tacos, or a game of dominoes at the right time of day make wonderful memories. We visited the highly recommended Museo Nacional de Antropología, the outstanding museum at the Templo Mayor, and the Museo Frida Kahlo in Coyoacán (one of our personal favorites). We were engaged by the socially critical murals at the Secretaría de Educación Pública, the Museo de San Ildefonso, the Palacio Nacional, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes. At the latter, we also watched the colorful Ballet Folklórico de México. On the weekend, we browsed through Mexican arts and crafts at the Bazar Sábado in San Ángel.
Finally from December 07th to 09th, we spent a couple of days enroute from Cuba to Canada on the beach in Cancún at the Mayan Riviera.
